Do not judge any of the MPs above harshly if you don't think they should have voted FOR this Bill. The reason they did so was because they only heard one side of the story.

They were told that CASA had consulted widely and that no-one objected to EVUs. The last part is true - when CASA put the heat on, every single one of our representative organisations folded up and sang CASA's song. That is why AIR SAFETY AUSTRALIA was formed - to give the ordinary grass-roots pilot a voice in Parliament.

If you are going to judge anyone harshly, judge your representative organisation which failed to inform you of the proposal or failed to inform Parliament of your views. Or blame yourself, if you are not a member of a representative organisation.

If you do not want EVUs, you should commend all the MPs listed above. Despite the fact that they were told that no-one objected to EVUs, they had their doubts. They voted against the Bill. That is democracy at work.
